FF5 text
- A universal table file for displaying text in FF5
- Works on RPGe's English translation

FF5 extra
- Extra lines should be put into the text table file, at the bottom
- Battle dialogue
- Menu symbols
- Ending poem

hex-dec
- A simple table file for converting numbers from hex to decimal format

Hello, just wanted to say your Table files are useful. But I was wondering, I was sure with FFVI there was a Hex value for starting the following text in a new window. Is there such a command for FFV? I've been working on a script overhaul and I'm stuck on the game's opening.

couldn't you just look it up?  use the rom and table, then find some text that stretches into 2 boxes.  look at the hex values between them.  it would have to be one of those, right?  it shouldn't be too difficult to figure out, i don't think.  if i wasn't on the verge of falling asleep, i would do it now...    :sleep:

I wouldn't be here if I didn't try to do that already there ARE some characters that appear at the end of  between windows 02 and 17, but using them at my discretion causes garbled text and glitches. Though it could have something to do with the way the text at the beginning is done.

EDIT: My bad I think I got it, it looks like you just have to the "New Line Code" (01) three times or so.Boy do I feel foolish now.

The character 00 (| ) signifies end of text box.

Because of a bug in the table file, it was hard to spot inside text. I'll fix it right away.

Well as far as I've seen that just ends that specific "section" of text to move on to the next pointer. Oh well... guess it's something they didn't program in until FFVI. I'm making due  :happy:

BTW did you need a "bookmark" for the Main Dialog pointers? While the text starts much earlier, the actual Main Dialog pointers start at 20162Fh I didn't see the info in any of your guides.
