Google Chrome
Deathlike2:
Firefox 5 will be out soon, so heads up and remember to update Flash while you're at it.
darkmage:
Firefox 5 still breaks a couple of the news pages I go to daily. And I don't care for Chrome sending my search results back to Google.
So I found a build of Chromium that took all that functionality out, called Iron. It's not on the bleeding edge, but it gives me what I want, which is a good, fairly fast browsing experience.
Also, for any build of Chrome, once you get used to the way the search engines are added and how they work, it's like buttah.
Now I need to find an FTP client that works like FireFTP, and I can get rid of Firefox entirely.
Deathlike2:
Firefox 6 is out today. I hate how Flash is crapping on my comp... :bah:
Firefox 7, which is coming out in late September (9/27), will have a much needed improvement... reducing the memory footprint and improving performance through that. That might get me back into Firefox... but it's a kinda a little late for that. They have figured out where to release some memory for stuff that shouldn't need it (thus explaining some of the ballooning memory or inefficiencies).
assassin:
what's with the rapidly ascending version numbers? they just went from Firefox 3.6 to Firefox 4 a couple months ago, now they're bounding from 5 to 6 to 7? are they trying to match IE to achieve some psychological parity? that's silly.
Deathlike2:
It's not the IE numbering.. it's the Chrome numbering.
I'm sure marketing is hard at work on this.
