Once again, I've managed to cause a rather annoying and disturbing bug, that has been plaguing my ROM for God only knows how long, but I always thought it was kind of a blessing in a since, until I found out that it has not gone away, but just moved to another character. What I am talking about here people is the "Banon Fell" game over sequence.Somehow
, about a year or so ago, I unintentionally managed to eradicate it from happening all together from Banon, as you can see here in this pic:
So all was good, and I was happy, and while I should have tried to figure out right then and there why it happened, I did not, and just thought it was...strange. Well, it has just now been brought to my attention that Banon's game over upon death routine has managed to cross its way over to the 2nd recruitable Ghost, on the Phantom Train!
The 1st Ghost:
CB/AB30: 40 Assign properties $10 to character $07 (Actor in stot 7)
This Ghost is fine and does not cause the game over Banon thing.
*The 2nd Ghost:
CB/AB4E: 40 Assign properties $11 to character $08 (Actor in stot 8)
*THIS is the one that is causing the said issue, as seen here:
There are many other instances of these two ghosts being recruited, but they are all the same 2 ID's.
I should also note that the Ghost that game overs, looks to be using Relm's spot of actor in slot 8, but with the properties and graphics of the ghost. But Relm is fine, and does not cause the Game Over upon death. So it's just the Ghost in spot 8, and not Relm...hmm.
My question is simply this: How/where do I ERASE the "Banon Fell" flag all together from the ROM, so it will NEVER happen at all. I cannot locate it anywhere. At first I thought for sure it must be a battle event bit, but it appears as it's not. I would be truly grateful if someone can help me out with this little piece of information, as it would obliterate this problem that's driving me crazy. You would be my hero.
My other question would be, how in the holy **** might have this happened, and how would I make it normal and back on Banon again?
This is probably the most serious of the bugs I have that will most assuredly prevent me from ever releasing this hack, so any help is very much welcomed, and I hope it can be solved here!
