And I'd like someone with better knowledge of ASM to do some of those bug fixes and enhancements for me if they have time.  I'll go through and pick a few out that would be good.

odd as it might sound, you may want to ask over at gamefaqs' ff1 board about that.

also, for "beautifying" ff1, maybe have a look at grond's ff++ or final facelift by goongyaesomething and see what they did.
