This is an announcement of sorts. Lately, Yahoo mail has been worse and worse in terms of service and in annoyance. I had been using their service for the better part of 10 years, but now I've reached my breaking point. This obviously puts a hamper on submitting stuff to the site, so I've set up an email account to handle that. The new account is subWOWHOWIDUDATmissionITSLOLLIKEatWTFTHISISAWESOMEslickAHAHAHAHAHAprodZOMGuctionsALLYOURBASEAREBELONGTOUSdotorg. All of that is to throw off the spammers. Do not send large emails, else I'll be likely to start blocking it.

i can say that starting a few days ago, Yahoo mail got a lot better for me (at least on this computer, which doesn't IP block ad servers; i haven't tried on my other machine yet).  it's not quite as fast as it used to be, but it's definitely improved versus the recent molasses.  as blatant as the issue was, Yahoo was probably flooded with complaints, or administrators noticed the problem on their own.

ok, that improvement is limited to my other machine (which is running Firefox 3.x, and as said, doesn't IP block ads).  on this machine, which runs IE6 and does IP block ad servers, it's still quite crappy.  haven't yet narrowed down which difference is the cause -- what browser are you using?

Firefox's 2.x and now Firefox 3.5. It's been the same for every browser, I guess the dialup's had enough of it or something. :tongue:

yeah, dial-up is stinky, but i don't think it would cause Yahoo Mail -specific problems.  are you blocking ads, using the hosts file or any other means?  that's my best theory now.

I have been ad-blocking a whole bunch of crap, from all places. It has never caused a problem, not even at ad-infested Gamefaqs. :tongue:

odd.. since this computer has the same Firefox you're using.  anyway, give up after replying to my recent email. :P  or if it's really that horrendous, tell me if you want me to forward it to your Slick address.
