  • 8/8/2009 1:50am - Added a general text editor
  • 8/9/2009 1:26am - Finished the text editor loading portion
  • 8/9/2009 1:26am - Tweaked some of the code
  • 8/10/2009 12:16am - Tweaked a bit of text editor code

The laptop was sold and I'm back to making very little money.  I'm currently looking for a new job. 

I've installed VB6 on my girlfriend's computer so I can do a little work on my projects.  For now I'm just doing some simple things like bug fixing and etc...no completely new hacks are being worked on at this time. 

I hope I can have the time to fix all what I want to fix.   :cookie:

I need to fix as many of the bugs and or gameplay balance issues...  So I need someone to compile as complete of a list as possible of everything documented/suggested/addressed into one large quoted post.

Here is the official topic for MQHT Beta test phase 2.  So here's the scoop.

Beta edition:
  • Tweaked the monsters until the Flamerus Rex
  • Tweaked opening battle with Behemoth to be more difficult -- but not so that you cannot win
  • Distinctly harder monsters -- up until the Flamerus Rex
  • Tweak some misc items
  • Some misc text changes not relating to the story
  • Tweaked character stats (some increases some decreases)
  • New music


Again, beta testers, reviewers and FAQ writers are needed.  This thread is ONLY for beta tester requests and beta/public releases of the patch.

You NEED a ROM header!

NOTE: Keep in mind the game is only playable as a hardtype until after you beat the Flamerous Rex.  After that it is even easier due to the character stat and item changes.  

All FAQs, walkthroughs and reviews should be writen after at least the complete game has been done.

After playing a bit of my 1.0 I've found a few bugs and a few things that need to be addressed.  I'll be installing VB6 on my girlfriend's computer here and fix a few things.  Also create a proper "Easy Type"--which is what this will be but with a twist. 

The point of this topic is to recruit beta testers, reviewers and or FAQ writers. 

Give me a few days to a week to get a beta up of 2.0.  I'm going to change up how the game is played.  V1.0 will still be on the site for achival purposes but 2.0 will be different in alot of ways.  By the name "insane" you'd think the game to be bonkers--and it will be.  The game won't care how easy or hard or rediculous things will be.  The point is to provide an EasyType but make the game FUN to play while removing the mindless battles and give the player a sense of insanity while playing.

I bought a few PS1 titles from Half Price Books, at $0.50 each. 

Harry Potter, Caesar's Palace and Monopoly.  I've bought several PC games too--at $0.50 each as well.   :cookie:

Ah ok. I was curious. I think I will take a rest from finding that pink tail from the pink puffs since I have bad luck apprently and try the Cecil solo patch. I can see James future is dark with all the WTF Uber monsters.

At least the pink puffs are giving me some nice TABs so I can probably cap out HP/MP for the party like Rydia's MP.

Also sir, that review you asked, you require a deadline?

Nope, no deadline.   :happy: 

And if you've got any screenshots I'd be glad to update the webpage with them. 

That goes for anyone else with any screens of any of my hacks.   :cycle:

I would be honored sir. Your hack of FF2 is very challenging indeed. I promise you that you may also see more wall of text in the future. Wondering if a Cecil solo is possible?

Also, I think I have found like a bug. I was dueling some Sorceres x3 for the ninja armor. Got defeated but it says I won. Odd.

A solo Cecil is possible...but probably quite difficult.  I smell lots of grinding.   :laugh:

Some battle formations will not game over you, I did it on purpose. 

I'm geniunly looking forward to reading more!

A very interesting read.   :happy:  There are a few things I didn't "tidy" up when I released it--one being spamming Weak.  The other being Blur.  But whatever, as long as people are having fun playing it and occasionally finding the "omg wtf" moment makes it all worth while.  Sheela, Paladin, Ghosts, Sorcerers and the Holy D are some of the monsters I put in for "omg wtf" moments.  Among other monsters...

No expects a regular Goblin outside of Baron to be deadly.   :cycle:

Think you could write a review after you finish it for my website?
