Just don't use Manulowe's patch and you'll be fine. That's been your bane of hacking this game.

If you have beta 2, use the "Optimize All" button. That will free up about, ohhhh, say, 8000 bytes. :wtf:

I'll be the first one to take the plunge. After all, you guys need to catch up still. *shot*

Anyway, these are dangerous picks. On one hand, the last time the Vikings won a road game this year was that "homecoming" thing in Green Bay. The last time they won a road NFC Championship game? Too long, let's put it at that. For them, their first trip to the big game in 33 years is on the line.

The Saints host their first ever NFC Championship game. Home teams are 11-7 this decade in the NFC Championship game. Not the greatest win percentage. History is against the Saints in another matter, should they win this game, they will almost certainly lose the Super Bowl. History has not been kind to teams getting to their first "finals" appearance, in any sport.

For the Colts, it's almost business as usual. They are at the AFC Championship game like they have nothing better to do. Ironically, this is the first time they've gotten there while resting starters, and the Patriots don't stand in their way. An anticlimactic result, perhaps?

And then there's the Jets. "Really? Them?" Yeah, that's the one. Nevermind the fact that there's a giant boulder standing in their way in the person of Peyton Manning. Nevermind that they have a rookie quarterback and rookie head coach. Nevermind the fact that they had a 9-7 record at season's end. Every stat in the world says they lose this game.

"That's why they play the game!"

All of that said, here's my picks: Vikings, Jets.

Why? I can't go against my purple brethren now. My heart wants me to pick them, but my brain says the Saints cannot be stopped. My brain remembers the 2000 NFC Championship game, getting shallacked by the Giants 41-0. My brain remembers the pain of the 1998 NFC Championship game, and Gary Anderson made 50 consecutive field goals that season. If I take a hit for this pick, so be it.

And the Jets? This reminds me somewhat of a massive David vs Goliath scenario. A team that appears so overmatched, it looks like they stand no chance to survive whatsoever. I'll throw week 16 out the window, since that wasn't a good litmus test. The Colts snatched defeat from the jaws of victory that day, and for no real reason.

Plus this makes the ultimate Deathlike Doomsday Scenario. Since we can't have the ultimate Mercury Morris Doomsday Scenario, I'll have to settle for this one, instead.

The Economizer tweak has been updated to v1.0a. This update removes any use of free space the previous versions used, making this conflict free. Well, almost. If you are editing descriptions any, you may run into a problem with the Economizer's... Oh well. Rejoice!

:edit:
Removes free space? I'm taking it all!

Ooops, the readme wasn't right. I put the C2 code at C2/65FD.

Ok, the Economizer MP tweak patch has been updated (trust me, it is). I need some confirmation that I'm not conflicting with another patch, and to triple check that the patch does what it's supposed to do.

:edit:
Updated the patch at 6:10 pm central time, because the description was broken. If no problems surface with this patch, v1.0 will be (most likely) the final version.

Unfortunately, I haven't touched that patch in forever. Since it's old, it's due for an update. Luckily I'm a better programmer now.

If you are a person that has been using any of my FF6 patches, it is recommended that you check the patch page for updates. I condemn thee to hell, Anchors Aweigh, and Can't lose for winning were all conflicting with other patches.

I also must stress if you were using Drakkhen's Ignore-Ignore Defense, Drakkhen's Ignore Charm, or Master ZED's Controllable Umaro, that you re-apply those and then use my updates. My apologies to everyone for letting this go on for as long as it did. :isuck:

On a more serious note, Bears defensive end Gaines Adams died Sunday morning. Preliminary reports state the cause as a cardiac arrest caused by an enlarged heart. He was 26.

In other words, exactly what a quarterback would look like if designed by God himself -- provided He had at least eight days and didn't rush.  Isn't that right, Pat?  Terdunken!
Didn't you retire from broadcasting?

I'm still trying to piece this last game together. :omg:

All but over. Two minutes to go, Colts are up 20-3. They are moving on to the AFC Championship game. I'm getting killed here tonight.

I mentioned that fact already.

Congratulations to the Saints, they are advancing to the NFC Championship game. The Saints did what I did not think was possible, and the game was a blowout. :whoa:
