Haven't had one of these in a while. Someone is complaining about how hard the beginning of the WoR is in FF6. In reality it really is pretty tough, unless you know the uber cheese strategies to make everything nigh-useless.

However, after being confronted with this info, the thread has since erupted into a giant argument. This one might last a while.

Enough. This is the second time both of you have been told this.

if it's the latter,

see a commented Bank C1: C1/1584, and the latter half of function C1/1588 (which also references EC/E800, the larger data block).  i probably shouldn't have used the phrase "mystery value" at C1/15DE, as my comments right beneath that show i know what it does.
 Should everyone's ff3info.txt be updated then?

Code: [Select]
ECE400-ECE6D7       DATA          Weapon Graphics and Sound
ECE6D8-             DATA          Graphics used for specials?
ECE800-ECE8FF       DATA          "Mystery data" used by Colliseum for flying monsters
ECE900-??????       DATA

I'd like to know what that data does, to be honest.

Kinda funny though as I look back, we have released a bunch of stuff already:

Bug fixes - Anchors Aweigh, Bad Decoration, Border Crossing, Can't Lose for Winning, Esper's Battle menu, For What Ails Ya, and I condemn thee to hell!

Miscellaneous tweaks - Always an Esper, Economizer MP, Elemental display, Holy randomness batman!, ignore defense no longer ignores safe and shell, and offering.

With much more to come.

Final Fantasy IX (PS)

I'm resuming a very old game, one that had me stuck in the Ice Cave because I couldn't see my HP during the Black Waltz 1/Sealion fight. The old TV was stretching the picture so badly the bar was gone completely, so I was guessing a few times on when to heal. Needless to say, that didn't work so I put it off.

But with the new working TV, I decided to continue. I blew through discs 1 and 2, and I'm just about at the end of disc 3. I actually died in Bran Bal, and hadn't saved since before the Terra Guardian fight, so I wound up doing some prep work. The lack of saving is because of the experience of doing a level 1 Ozma game, so I was a bit too cocky at this section (the level 1 Ozma game stops before stepping foot in Bran Bal, cause it's all about the big round guy).

Level-wise, I'm in decent shape. Zidane is 30, and everyone else is mid-20's. I'm not sure if I'm going to charge right into Memoria or not when I get to disc 4.

I was PM'ed about the captcha last night, so it's not just you. I guess the transition left behind more annoyances after all.

I'm not familiar with phpBB, but have you tried flushing your cache to see if it clears up? Perhaps something is still looking at the old server?

zomg happy burfday! :childish:

I don't know how when or why...
Holy crap!
The bottom row is a little random I suppose. If you hold the mouse over any checkbox, a tooltip will appear, telling you what each box does.
If the tooltip appears for any shared icon, then I guess what I was going to say it moot.

Incoming potentially stupid question: Why are there multiple helmet, gauntlet, sword, armor, and staff icons?
