Looks like it's relatively easy to fix. Is it?

Much, much better.

How about you add the dragon's den and other new dungeons in the mix.
Whatever dungeons we add, only the team will know about.

Make it so the player characters can have more than 9999 HP or 999 MP.
Both HP and MP have a limitation of sorts, and it's also why the displayable damage cap is what it is. The highest two bits of HP and MP are used for the boosters (Red Cap, Green Beret, etc). When one is set, it's +50% HP, when another is set it's +25%, when both are set it's +12.5%. Because of that, the HP cap is 16,384 (as is the MP cap). Unless we could find some room in the SRAM, expanding the HP isn't going to be possible. I presume you'd like to see MP capped at 9999?

One additional factor is the battle screen, there's not enough room for 2 more digits for each player.

Additionally make it so damage can exceed 9999 points.
It's deja vú all over again.

Keep them coming.

:edit:
Added more. :isuck:

So you're going to just link two youtube movies and say nothing else? If your suggestion is to use the new map editor, then you're behind the times. If your suggestion is to look at two youtube links, then it's not a very good suggestion. :shadow:

I've got an awesome question... are you going to make Shadow make more of an appearance throughout the game?
I don't know. Maybe, maybe not.

Slick News / Blargo!
« on: August 10, 2009, 03:15:37 PM »
This is an announcement of sorts. Lately, Yahoo mail has been worse and worse in terms of service and in annoyance. I had been using their service for the better part of 10 years, but now I've reached my breaking point. This obviously puts a hamper on submitting stuff to the site, so I've set up an email account to handle that. The new account is subWOWHOWIDUDATmissionITSLOLLIKEatWTFTHISISAWESOMEslickAHAHAHAHAHAprodZOMGuctionsALLYOURBASEAREBELONGTOUSdotorg. All of that is to throw off the spammers. Do not send large emails, else I'll be likely to start blocking it.

Also, :bored:

The damage cap is not because of hardware limitations, it's the way they programmed it. It's coded very specifically, and 9999 was chosen because it's the number that probably makes the most sense. The displayable damage cap is (if I recall correctly) 16,384.

Basically, you're not upping the damage cap unless you rework half of the engine (that's where the effort line comes in). And doing it for aesthetic purposes? Yeah, not worth it.

ANYTHING is possible, given hardware limitations. It all depends on how much effort you're willing to put into such a task, and whether or not the end result is worth it.

Star Ocean: The Second Story (PS)

Now that I actually have the game, I can go through it again! I started a new game on Rena's side, on earth difficulty. I got as far as Alan's dungeon before saving and quitting. More to come later.

Final Fantasy IX (PS)

Likewise, I started a new game of this as well, and got as far as the Ice Cave before turning it off. It's actually going to be hard to play due to the state of my TV. In any event, more to come later!

I recently started getting an interest back into the MMX series, so I made movies of the first three games. I failed, hard. All three were made with Snes9x v1.51 (I stuck with it since an outdated and desync-happy Zsnes isn't appealing to use).

:edit:

Those that have been reading RHDN knows where this next one is coming from. A series of Super Mario RPG. Made with Zsnes v1.51 and Snes9x v1.51. You'll know which is which because of the extensions.

I'd post about my progress of my FF1 test run, but I'm not doing that here.

Yes and no, in that order (unless there was a dungeon specifically made for it, then yes and yes).

1) Which 8x8 character should I use in front of consumable items to make sure they show up as items?
0xFE

2) Which 8x8 character should I use as a space to make sure the VWF sees it correctly?
VWF only has one space character (either 0xFF gets subtracted to 0x7F) and that's 0x7F.

EE/839F is an LDA $11F6. To get from CPU address to hex offset, simply subtract 0xC00000 from the address (HiROM only). EE/839F would be at 0x2E839F, all you need to do then is account for header (add 0x200 if one exists).

Has anyone given this a try yet?
Last time I gave any of them a try the calendar still said 2008. Since RM3 endless wasn't as fun, I grew out of playing them. :bored:
