No secret. You just couldn't have copied everything like you said if you're getting layering issues. Triple check everything in every tab, go into the hex if you need to. You missed something.

Doing searches for all instances of $0798 gives only 1 with a read, C0/9A75. The code following this will execute only if $0798 is zero. Sadly, I have nothing else on this, though I was now able to do some code optimizations to PB's assembly of the bank. :tongue:

I use a PS controller adapter (which works with PS2 controllers), and I've never had a problem with it. It also supports the dualshocks, if you have any games that use it. Imagery of the adapter: 1, 2, and 3. I got it from ZD many moons ago when they were still selling stuff. Don't think this particular brand is available anymore, but there should be plenty of similar products.

Was going to say, if you can't save anything then it's probably read-only. Not sure on this one, since I haven't experienced it myself. What specifically are you doing?

There's plenty of unused maps you can use, but you can't make any new map configurations, because all of those are taken up. You need to recycle old ones, or expand them (good luck with that).

How doable is this?
Given the current state of the FF6 map editor, it's very doable. The only problem you have is there are no free tilemaps, so you can't actually create anything new. You have to use recycled maps.

DisPel does, but the version RHDN has is broken, and doesn't dump code correctly. I think the -a and -x arguments aren't even read, so everything always dumps 16-bit, or something like that. I believe data does dump correctly with that version, though. (*cough*version 0.99*cough*)

I've been meaning to submit the updated version to RHDN, but laziness has set in.
