Game Modification Station / Re: FF6 Improvement Project

Yeah, there were some issues with that patch that I didn't catch right away. Recommend not using it for the time being.

*edit 2*
I could use some help here getting the game to display more than 5 digits damage in battle--that's beyond my capabilities it seems.  :(
I tried adding in some digits to the final game time in Super Metroid, which is the same as this (adding in sprites), and I caved in because I couldn't find what was controlling it. FF4 is just about as messy code-wise, so there's no way I'm even going to try that disaster. :p

Good luck getting anyone to do that for you, btw. No, seriously.

Pandora's Box / Re: Strange object layering bug?

This bug is actually pretty common, scattered throughout the game. I have a theory that can fix this instance, but until I test it I won't know for sure.

No more updates?
When is asking for updates ever a good idea?

Shit happens, and we'll post stuff when we can.

Do you guys have a wiki around here?
There is no wiki, for FF6, for PB, or anything. :hmm:

Gaming Discussion / Re: bookshelf style emulator interface

Honestly, I've never heard of this before. But I imagine the feature would be database-driven, so any emulator that uses a database to verify games could support this, in theory.

That's easy. You play as all of them at once! :shadow:

No next-gen console for me, so I guess WO2 will be the last of the series I play.

there are 3 varieties of the patch, and not a single one of them match it
I suspect the numbers came from the first iteration before you gave the mondo assist with the optimization.

I thought about making a new thread for this, but this may work better. This was linked by Nightcrawler over at RHDN, and it's kinda frightening, but at the same time I really am not surprised.

The ZD rip is older and broken, because it wasn't ripped properly.

[10:30:06] Gil_: The one with the raw PCM drum samples doesn't work in the other players because it requires a IRQ call.
[10:30:40] Gil_: As well as a non-returning init.
[10:31:12] Gil_: Basically, that fixed NSF will NOT play in any standard player. Nintendulator supports it though.

What details are you looking for?
Version of Notso, and version of Winamp. If it's 5x, try a 2x version. Some of the 2x plugins work funky with 5x.

The current nsfe for Battletoads doesn't seem to work...
* Lenophis downloads the NSFE to test. It works

Yeah, you give no details, and it's working for me. I'm going to have to reject this submission.

Works for me. You sure you're using NotsoFatso, cause that's the only plugin that plays them, IIRC.

Yes it did.

it still goes to 65535 when i go to the ff3usme.
Zeemis actually gave a response similar to this when I told him what the patch does sometime last year. He even scoffed and said "there's no point" because the editor doesn't magically work with the patch.

is there something else i have to do?
You'll have to expand your horizons beyond a level-editing mentality. IIRC, the patch gives you specific instructions on where to hex edit, you just need to use a hex editor to do it.

...Or make your own editor to support the third byte.
