General Discussion / Re: File attachments

The problem is, I will be updating the file regularly, so it would be easier to use an external host.
Indeed, that would be a problem.

Still, it would be best if the attachments worked normally. Is the file size set low on purpose or is it some sort of bug?
It's low on purpose, otherwise it'd just get filled up that much quicker.

--Edit--
Space currently used due to attachments: 3.8 megs. Space total alloted for attachments: 6.4. Yeah, we're over half filled already. *ponders situation*

How big is it? If it's almost as big as the rom, then you have a header problem. Either the source or target file had a header, and the other didn't, meaning almost everything was flaggged as something to change. If your rom did, then you need to make sure the source has one as well, or you could delete the header of your rom. Either way is fine.

Game Modification Station / FF6 - possible bug
« on: January 27, 2008, 03:02:57 AM »
Ok, there's a potential bug out there to crush. If you set an item to cast a spell in battle, and turn off the "break after use" flag, there's potential that the item will not ever get re-added to your inventory. From the sounds of it, number of them remaining hasn't mattered, so it sounds like it could just happen at random. This is the function that re-adds items:

Code: [Select]
(Add/restore characters' items to inventory.  This function is called:
 - At the end of a character's turn when they Steal or Metamorph something.
 - At the end of battle for all characters, to account for items they tried to use
during the battle, but were thwarted by being killed/etc (the game depletes items
upon *issuing* the command, so it'll be gone from inventory even if the command
   never executed).
 - It can also be used to restore a "bottomless" item at the end of a character's
turn.  [The game does support equipment that doesn't deplete when you use it as
an Item, though no such equipment exists.])

C2/62C9: BD 18 30     LDA $3018,X
C2/62CC: 1C 8C 3A     TRB $3A8C     (clear this character's "add my items to inventory"
                                     flag)
C2/62CF: F0 19        BEQ $62EA     (if it wasn't set, then skip this character)
C2/62D1: BD F4 32     LDA $32F4,X
C2/62D4: C9 FF        CMP #$FF      (does this character have a valid item to add to
                                     inventory?)
C2/62D6: F0 12        BEQ $62EA     (branch if not)
C2/62D8: 20 DC 54     JSR $54DC
C2/62DB: A9 01        LDA #$01

C2/62E0: A9 05        LDA #$05
C2/62E2: 20 11 64     JSR $6411
C2/62E5: A9 FF        LDA #$FF
C2/62E7: 9D F4 32     STA $32F4,X   (null the item to add to inventory)
C2/62EA: CA           DEX
C2/62EB: CA           DEX
C2/62EC: 10 DB        BPL $62C9     (loop for all 4 party members)
C2/62EE: 60           RTS

If memory serves, any items will also be added when the person that used gets gets their ATB refilled. Not 100% on that. In any event, that's about all the info I have, provided from Gil. This is posted in case anybody may know anything. I, for one, have no clue what could be causing it.

Even still, it's a roast. You are supposed to go overboard. That's the entire point. I dunno, something just doesn't seem right.

Where can I find Djibriel?
His site, though I don't see an email address on it anywhere.

What are the forums rules concerning uploading snes roms? FFV in particular was never released in the U.S, so technically, it shouldn't be illegal anyway.
Still gotta be a patch.

A couple of weeks ago, I was watching the Best of Mike and Mike in the Morning, and they were in Atlantic City. That night, they (Mike Greenberg and Mike Golic) were to be roasted, and it sounded like they were preparing for it. Among those roasting were Dana Jacobson.

Anybody that has been to one, or has seen one knows how raunchy they can get. If there's something to rip into, it gets shredded until there's nothing left. It's all in good fun, at least for those with a sense of humor.

Fastforward to earlier this week, and it turns out Dana Jacobson is "being disciplined" for remarks spoken at the roast. I'm not sure what she said, but it was about Notre Dame. It angered some Catholic group, and now she's been suspended until whenever.

Ok, who sees what is wrong here? When you talk about anything at a roast, you are supposed to rip into it, as much as you can. Why was she suspended for something that you are supposed to do? What in the hell is going on here?

Ok, something was being shown off here, but it's possible the full intent wasn't shown off. So, to make sure it is:

Did the game freeze after that? Because I see a line of garbage at the top of the screen.
No, Zsnes caused the garbage. I don't know why, it does that sometimes.

I don't really care what those people think of me on that forum.  I don't have the time to deal with it.
It seems like, in a very small way, you do for some reason. I'm reminded of what an excellent old-school person has told me.

You can't let everything get to you.

He told me that a couple of weeks ago after an infuriating experience of my own.

I let people know what I do because maybe someone else would appreciate it.
Believe me, it is appreciated. You seem to have sparked an SPC hacking frenzy, which others have taken up.

Either way, after reading that forum I've already concluded that it is full of GameFAQs style posting and users.  I really expected as much--I got what I expected.  What is un-nerving is the fact that all that person had to do was re-word their post with some maturity and respect and everything would of been fine.  I don't tolerate it when people could easily be respectful or mature and choose not to be.  This person's profile said they were 22 years old--they should know better.

There's one thing to remember. Fanboys will act in a way that is what the crowd says. Nothing will ever change that.

Regarding the topic, hell yes. I've wanted to have long spurts of sleep many times. Hell, I have a hard enough time falling asleep as it is, so what little I get is a blessing. You working a bunch of 12 hour shifts or something?

You do realize you aren't making yourself look any better with the "delete me you suck" attitude, right? That will come off as extremely childish, even moreso than the dumb fanboy response. You acted way too hastily with the quick edit, which will also make you look like a troll looking for attention. There are times where I wish you would think things over more, and this is one of those times.
