Gaming Discussion / Re: Random FF and FF6 Questions
« on: April 22, 2008, 09:28:33 PM »
I was talking of the original FF (including FF: DOS if applicable)...
I misread it as FF4, four times...

Ok then, let's try this again. *deep breath*

I have no idea. You may want to ask Grond or somebody that has ripped the game apart.

Edit: Also, has there been any sort of effort to write a patch for Gogo's command list to expand it so that every possible command and perhaps future added commands to be listed and be selectable? I know FF3USHT suffers from this problem IIRC.
I'm not sure.

v6.41 or v6.42 fixes whatever was wrong with v6.40 (which plain ol didn't even work). Although with v6.5 looming (no idea when that's going to be out though), there will be new features which will greatly shoot down ever wanting to use FF3Ed. No dialogue editor, but just about everything else FF3Ed can do, FF3usME will be able to do as well.

As for FF4, I'm not entirely sure. But given the numbers, it probably follows a system FF2 started. I'd have to look into it again, but it basically went like this:

Evade level was how many hits you would automatically dodge, though evade% may still play a factor. Likewise, your hit level was how many hits you would attempt to strike, minus target's evade level.

They both suck, by the way, which is why they were cut, Statue is nearly unplayable.
Statue is unplayable as it is in single player. :lame: Cradle looks like it would be interesting multiplayer, given the layout.

Slick News / New section
« on: April 19, 2008, 10:08:42 PM »
Slick now has a new archive section, an FF5 patch archive. Right now, it only has 1 patch, but as time passes I hope there's more.

In addition, there's been some submitted documents to the FF5 section, which I also hope grows with time.

In other news, RT-55J has sent in a new NSFE, this one of Metal Storm.

New to theaters today, saw it today. Being the first movie I've seen in 6 or 7 months, I was looking for a good one. I found one. The prospect of Jackie Chan and Jet Li alone made it promising, and it delivered. There are some corny moments, which was to be expected, but all in all it turned out pretty good. There's also a 10 minute fight scene between Chan and Li, which was pretty awesome. I recommend seeing it if you like action movies.

I guess you haven't of the updated patch.
Ummm, what? I've read this 6 times, and I can't make out the intent of what you were trying to say.

Has there been some behavior that hasn't been fully documented by the FF5 Algo FAQ?
Like what? Got any examples?

Those are statuses? I feel like kicking the development team for that one...

Stuff like "updated first post with new info" is completely unnecessary.

On an unrelated note, a forum is a bad place to hold information.
I believe this to be true. I hope, for your sake and everybody else's that you are making copies of this info locally or somewhere else. If this board goes down, you may never see the info again.

Any idea what it's about? Or is it just an Xtreme Legends type expansion?

There is absolutely no reason to have 6 consecutive posts like that, Deathlike. Next time, do edits.

Try changing your check to FC 12 00 00 (if monster self is dead), then use the reviving with full HP so they are revived instantly. I'm pretty sure they won't blink then.....maybe.

If possible, what would you put in the xxx spot? Or would you do the script in a different way? Other solutions?

FC 06 36 ??: If self has less or equal than ????? HP
XX XX XX XX: xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
F8 00 81:    Add 1 to variable 00
FC 0D 00 ??: If variable 00 is more than or equal to ??
F5 0C 01 FF: Kill all monsters (boss death animation)
FE:          End
F5 00 03 xx - Restores monster's HP to full. XX are the monster numbers in bits, same as F5 0C 01 FF (you only care about the $3F though, since there's only 6 monsters). If xx is 0, self will probably be used, though I'm not sure.

Additionally, F5 00 00 xx - Monster's if dead or hidden, revive with full HP instantly. XX is the same as the previous examples. If this isn't what you are looking for, do some testing with command F5 to see what fits best.

Ok, 4 movies will be posted sometime within the week. Two of Dynasty Warriors 6, two of Warriors Orochi. Both have a single player and multiplayer movie. All four combined are 1.6 gigs (all are 640x480 in reso, and have really good quality. not H.264 but at this rate who could tell?) The two DW6 movies will be about 750 megs in size (the smallest movie of all four is our DW6 multiplayer run).

Fair warning now, but they'll be up as soon as they are uploaded.

--Edit--
Both of us did our own encodings of the movies. He has access to the H.264, and we'll be doing quality comparisons, and whichever wins will be the ones you guys get.

Pandora's Box / Re: Do you plan on releasing the hack in UPS format?

I don't know for certain. Although if things continue in the direction they do (people telling others how they should keep their roms), then I'm personally leaning towards "no." However, nothing is decided yet, and we'll see when the time comes.
