And now, a run of hard mode for the November 10th update. It didn't start out so great, then I encounter the napalm man room and new lazer room (again). I didn't figure either out until after this movie, so expect much hilarity there.

I have an excellent movie for the November 8th update (this was before I even knew the 10th was out), and the only thing that can describe it is this:

New ultimate personal best!

:edit:

And now a run for the November 10th update. And where do I die? Why, a new laser room, of course!

I haven't seen any new areas outside of the laser area yet
It's always possible the rooms I saw were added in a previous update and I never ran into them.

And now, the funzies begin. The first movie breaks it open. I believe a couple more rooms were added, including one more section of one of the originals. A bunch of lame deaths, though. You can tell when I panic cause I'll have seen a new room for the first time.

Then there's hard mode, and believe it or not I do fairly well. I even managed to get through the newer evil laser room.

Ok, two new movies for the October November 2nd update. The first is a showing of the normal, which isn't all that impressive.

Then there's the one for hard mode. This one I will dub "The Adventures of the Wily Stages," since I swear that's all I had for a while there. I also encounter the newest laser room the most of any rooms out there (as opposed to the newer evil gravity room, which I believe I saw once entirely). This movie has it all, a very strong start, a blooper reel, and a very strong finish. Trust me, you'll know when you get to the bloopers. :isuck:

I don't even remember if Zsnes even allowed savestate loading during movie recording. There were serious enough desync issues with it, that they probably didn't want to risk it (Deathlike should be able to clarify this). If they did allow it, I'm sure the savestates used would need to be sent along with the movie.

No idea on Snes9x, the only movie recording I do with it is the occasional avi. And that's only done with the tracer because the regular versions don't like when I try to set controls to what I like.

On top of that, the last button must always be 01, since that is A. Beyond that, you should be good to go.

what is the difference between a header and no-header rom
Essentially a difference in file size. Many roms back in the day were dumped with copiers, and the copiers attached 512 bytes to the beginning of the rom to give various info. Most of the time, it'll be mostly or all zeroes. In the end, the headers themselves are useless. Some programs depend on them though (especially the older ones) because at the time nobody knew the difference.

To check, simply open the file in a hex editor and go to the end of the rom. If the file address reads 0xXX0200, then the rom has a header.

And I make an attempt with the October 25th version. Quick Man's stage is a bit evil.

:edit:

Made one on hard mode, and this time I think I have a beat on Quick Man's stage. Nothing impressive though. :isuck:
