Gaming Discussion / Re: Final Fantasies on the GBA -- which to get?

:bah: I can't find the threads at Gamefaqs. I'm going from memory (and am probably incorrect somewhere), but if I'm right, it goes like this:

Quicksave somewhere, anywhere you want.
Start a new game, play as far as you wish, as far as your quicksave (you cannot save at all in this step)
Die, get a game over. When you resume, one of the files will load with levels reset, HP all wonky (but really high) and the stats saved. This is what allows you to raised all 4 stats to the 128 max.

One person that knows this is Novalia, but he only resides over there. I'd ask him for some clarification.

I don't know about either of those. I don't remember there being any bugs in the US FF6a release.
Other than a lot that still remained, one big new one was Doom Gaze really screwing you out of Bahamut. If you killed Doom Gaze in the Soul Shrine before killing him on the world map, you'll never see Bahamut.

There's another one that's a big exploit in your favor. You can quicksave your stats to crazy levels, effectively making it a New Game+ scenario. I forget the steps involved, but if lucky the topic still exists at Gamefaqs.

I own IV, V and VI Advance but the US release.  Are the Euro versions actually better to PLAY as in the bugs fixed?  I need someone to breakdown (DKK) what is changed/fixed on the Euro releases.
Thanks a lot. :shadow:

Recently I got an itch to play Secret of Mana, for no real reason at all. I figured "hey, good time for a movie!" So, here you go. This is a 10-part series of the whole game. Beware though, once I get flammie then I get really lost. For some reason, I was never able to navigate SoM's map, ever. :isuck: Segment 9 (.zm8) is purely (omg see what I did there?) spell building, and then level building.

Made with Zsnes v1.51.

The four pages never went away, though some concern has been raised about their existence and organization.

Software compression was already enabled, as was hardware compression. This modem is an external, good ol US Robotics v.97. Software compression would not apply here.

Whether or not it actually helps anything (probably won't) remains to be seen.

Gaming Discussion / Re: RHDN broke.

Seeing as though you guys are probably keeping track of the Parodius posts, this isn't necessary. But I'll say it anyway. RHDN is only kinda broke now.

I see no option for software compression, but modem compression is already enabled by default. Believe me, I've tried to squeeze everything out of this connection as I could (even had it connected at 56 a few times) but the stability went out the window.

Oh, the backup? Sorry about that.

That'll happen every once in a while (getting the backup is an 8-10 meg process, which on dialup takes an hour).

In keeping with the streamlining, all attachments from the 2007 calendar year were removed. This freed up about 2.1 megs of attachable space.

Haven't played the euro version of FF5A, so I can't speak to that. The US should be plenty good enough.

GBA, definitely. FF5A is the one port that Square did (TOSE did everything else). FF6A was pretty much ok, nothing bad, nothing great. FF4A had mondo issues that the euro version fixed.

You sure? The topic vanished just like that savestate topic a little bit ago, which leaves me to believe this one was modded. Another topic disappeared too, about Gamefaqs having a bigger hacking community. :lame:

In lieu of RHDN being down, and since gamefaqs hasn't produced anything tonight, I bring you stupidity from Transcorp. In it is epic fail, and it gives me an excuse to link this image for no real reason at all:

Thankfully Gamefaqs resumed its production.
