Final Fantasy XII (PS2)
Yes, you read that right. I've now got myself my very own PS2! I bought FFXII for sixteen dollars at a GameCrazy that's going out of business. I'm not too far, Vaan's just chasing after the rogue tomato. I...don't entirely like Vaan's voice. It just further fortifies his male prostitute look.

Lufia II: Rise of the Sinistrals (SNES)
I finished testing again for Artemis, and now I'm waiting for the next (and hopefully final) update to "Frue Lufia." I never beat the Ancient Cave or finished the Dragon Egg quest...

Star Ocean (SFC)
Restarted for the umpteenth time, and I know what you're thinking: I'm trying too hard to like this game, but that's not true. I'm trying too hard to keep perfect track of my characters' Talents and Specialties. Now I know what Talents are good for the beginning of the game, and who should must-have what, as well as an ability list if I ever get lost in training them.

Anyhow, I'm in Astral Cave right now. I picked up Cius, and I'm wondering if I should also bring along Marvel.

Chrono Trigger (SNES)
Beaten a while ago. I got all the way up to level 99, clocked in at my final save at 45:57. I immediately did New Game + afterwords--I was pretty obsessed with Chrono Trigger at the time I played it. That save had much less time on it (19:01).

Breath of Fire (GBA)
I'm saved in Prima. I think I need to go save Ox's clansmen, or maybe just the women.

Dragon Quest VI (SFC)
Saved at Reidock. I believe this is the point of the game where you climb the tower to become a soldier.

Dragon Warrior IV (NES)
Game beaten without any cheat codes. Yes, I used the AI, and you know what? It was better than playing without it! :whoa: The this game's AI is really something. My final levels were fourty-ish. The only thing I'd do to improve on the AI is have the person in the first slot be controlled rather than just the hero. Speaking of the hero, I used a female hero just to mess up the Heaven series' canon.

EarthBound (SNES)
I'm using Tzepish's "EarthBound Tweak" hack for a playthrough of this. I've come across one or two textual bugs so far, but most of it's a vast improvement. I've just beaten Frank and Frankystein Mark II, so next up would be Giant's Step.

Final Fantasy III (FC)
At the beginning still. I never cheated, and now I don't think I will. I've just realized I think this game's boring BECAUSE I cheat. Heh.

Final Fantasy IV Advance (GBA)
This one was beaten too. I love how Porom can equip the Assassin's Dagger, even though it's clearly an oversight; probably one of my favorite ones in all of Final Fantasy. My levels were 70-80.

Final Fantasy VI Advance (GBA)
Finally beaten. My team's levels were 50. Everyone learned every spell. I cheated, of course, but I'm finally done with this game! Huzzah! Kaiser Dragon and Omega Weapon were...disappointing, much like the rest of the bonus content. I think the port would've been more successful if the new weapons and the Dragon's Den didn't exist.

Lufia & the Fortress of Doom (SNES)
Beaten. I'm in a Lufia craze again. Haha. It's been said that playing this game...is sort of like being in an abusive relationship. I must agree; it'd be much better if there was more plot. Anyway, I ended with a zero inn stay count, zero deaths, all treasure chests found, all but one got item, and only one escape. Hopefully I do better in Lufia: The Legend Returns!

Lufia II: Rise of the Sinistrals (SNES)
Doing a sort of leisure play this time. I say "sort of" because I'm still technically testing the game for Artemis. What's going on now is I'm giving suggestions to perfect the dialogue. I'm currently saved in Dankirk. Stupid Ruby Angel, stupid greedy queen... :bah:

Mother 3 (GBA)
Currently chasing after Duster and Kumatora in chapter seven. I think I'll go for Duster first, just to make the game a little different.

Star Ocean (SFC)
In front of Parj Temple. I just got Joshua. I don't think I'll keep him.

Tales of Phantasia (PS1)
I've been following Neo_Zeromus_X's guide for this. I'm currently outside Lone Valley, about to get Sylph. Though this game isn't very revolutionary by today's standards, and the characters are dry and bland, I still love them just the same. ♥

Wild ARMs (PS1)
I beat this game a while ago. Quite a while ago, in fact. I really enjoyed playing it, though the spelling mistakes were a bit grating after such excellent grammar throughout the script. I'm not sure if I'd replay it again, though.

hey, the multi-month delay was my fault.  apologies.
Evidently when it comes to the two of us an communication, explosions happen.

I meant that I was sorry for my delay in responding to your post.

God, I need to learn to use clarity...

Ugh, sorry about that delay.

Anyhow, the "not a fix per se" line was meant to refer to "The Sketching Mime", or then the "Gogo/Brush Patch", since I originally "marketed" my patch as a fix. The sentence is not really needed now...but I know that some young, foolish child such as I was then will download it when he finds out about ROM hacking and bug fix patches, so it may as well stay.

tl;dr -- yes, the "This isn't really a "fix", per se; ..." line refers to my patch, "The Sketching Mime".

darkmage, if you could give it to him I'd be grateful. I...didn't keep the patch, to be honest. I figured that he'd get to it within the week. Heh, I guess this teaches me never to assume, eh?

I wouldn't really need it though, would I? I mean, if I have a basic concept of hex editing, and FF3usME now does everything FF3ed could do but five thousand times better, all I might need his godawful patch for is the readme as a guide for fixing what typos he found.

As a matter of fact, I think that's what I might do, use his readme to fix things up a bit without changing the internal name or applying any patches.

Simply put, my feelings on this are as follows:

♥♥♥

I think I'm gonna attempt a tiny script edit, though we all know how me and FFVI hacking go over.

Gaming Discussion / Re: The Mechanics of Runiced/Runicked Spells
« on: January 15, 2010, 12:52:34 AM »
And finally, which spelling is official: Runiced/Runicable or Runicked/Runickable? Both are being used by the community of the internet and doing the slash thing throughout this entire post is getting irritating.
Neither is really "official" per se, but due to the way the English language works, I'd say "Runicked", simply because of how the word "mimic", which is very similar in sound to "Runic", is put into past tense as "mimicked", hence "Runicked". I can't really find anything to support the term "Runickable" or "Runicable" though. Anyway, when I read "Runiced", I read it as "roo-nissed", so the "k" will help signify it's a hard "c" and not a soft one.

So long as it's nothing insane like one-thousand, I'm good! A couple hundred doesn't sound so bad.

Count me in.

To be honest, I'm not entirely sure. I just figured I'd help 'cause I'm not good at anything else... How many bugs am I looking at word-fixering, anyhow? Less than one-thousand?

Why yes, English is indeed my first language.

I have no life and I'm fairly proficient in English, or at least I'd like to believe I am. My age may not incur your trust or speak of any credentials I may or may not have, but so long as I'm not dealing with hacking a video game, I'll probably stick with it.

Leave it as it is. If people want Cyan renamed, they'll rename him manually themselves. It's not like they'll see "Cyan" anywhere else other than the ending credits if they rename him.

Bahamut Lagoon (SFC)
At the chapter "Full of Regret". Again. I'll be passing it this time though.

Breath of Fire: The Dragon Warrior (GBA)
Got the US GBA version with the palette restoration patch. I'm liking it better than the SNES version so far, basically because now, it is the SNES version with an edited GUI and extra cutscenes. I'm currently at the beginning.

Breath of Fire IV: The Endless Ones (PS1)
I got through the cave to Wyndia, and now I'm there. Whoo. I talked to the king and apprenticed someone to Momo.

Dragon Quest V: Hand of the Heavenly Bride (SFC)
Turns out I didn't need to level up, and I was stalling for no reason. So after a lot of BS, I'm an adult and I married Flora. I have a save where I married Bianca though.

Final Fantasy I & II: Dawn of Souls (GBA)
FFI: I'm about to enter the Gulg Volcano. Marilith will be murdered.
FFII: Saved outside of Palm with Minwu in tow. Then I'm off to go grab Holy for Minwu for "Soul of Rebirth".

Final Fantasy III (FC)
...Accidentally loaded state. Then I started over, planning to cheat. So now I'm outside Salonia.

Final Fantasy VI Advance (GBA)
Restarted again because I forgot how I was training everyone. I have a list now though, so we should be good!

Final Fantasy VII (PS1)
Leveling everyone up to level 30 in Upper Junon still. Yuffie and Cait Sith are the two left to go.

Mother 3 (GBA)
Playing this while following the online handbook. So much stuff I never knew of...!

Riviera: The Promised Land (GBA)
Ein got his memories back, yay. Now I'm off to some forest place to meet Cierra.

Tales of Destiny II (PS1)
I'm now about to go get Undine. Again, "oon-dee-nee!" :bah:
