A couple of things here:

1. The handheld emulator lag thing has been happening since I switched to this computer.

2. I think I figured out one of the problems--I have no firewall. I try to install CA's firewall and it gives me some stupid error shit 90% through. My dad won't be able to help tonight as it's 12:42 AM. I'll be willing to try all of those things IST suggested as soon as I get a damn firewall. Jesus, I'm sick of this piece of shit computer. I'm about 5 seconds away from throwing out the goddamn window.

Alright then; thanks, I'll try them. May as well try CA again, too, just for good measure. I mean, I have canceled the last two antispyware/antivirus scans because they happened to pop up when I was in the middle of Breath of Fire II. >_>

More proof that :isuck:! :childish:

No dice on nod32; IE crashes when I go to the home page. I had AVG before and it didn't do jack. I'll try the others though.

 :edit:
Should probably mention that I have CA Security Center, and when I scan, it doesn't come up with any viruses or anything.

As for defrag, I do that and it can only defrag 2% of my computer because of all the gigabytes of files on it.

What the hell? I thought I changed the title. And had content in my post. I didn't hit the "post" button at all...

Well, this is a prime example of how much it sucks, I guess.

 :edit:
Yay content!

WARNING: 15-YEAR-OLD BOY'S ANGSTING INSIDE. ENTER AT YOUR OWN RISK!

 :isuck:

That's...all there is to it.

 :isuck:

Really, that pretty much sums up the topic. My computer lags horribly when I emulate GameBoy Color games, but not NES, SNES, GBA, or even PS1 games. Yes, you heard right--PS1 games run better than a simple GBC game on my hunk o' junk. This is what I get for pirating, I guess. This is probably also what I get for being poor.

At any rate, as of late, my computer also does not let me listen to MP3s and emulate at the same time while using speedup. Again, this is what I get for being poor and not being able to buy an iPod like all the 6-year-olds.

But that doesn't really have anything to do with the topic at hand, yes? Well, let me tell you of more suckage: every non-vBulletin forum I go to lags when I type. I'm currently typing up this wangstfest in Notepad, for those curious. Anyhow, this started when I switched from IE 7 to IE 8. I'd just switch to Firefox, but I have a feeling it'll lag on that, too.

Back to the GBC issue here--I've tried BGB, but if I try to make the screen size any larger than the default x1 resolution, the game lags. Not to mention it lags in VBACE. "VBACE's outdated!" you say. "Get VBA-M!" There's a problem there, too--don't you think I would've switched already if I could? I mean, hell, it's linked in the friggin Game Progress thread. The problem here is that it's like what DS games are on my computer: too advanced, so it lags for everything.

Don't really know how to end this. So I guess I'll just end it like a normal LiveJournal entry: "WHY DOESN'T ANYONE UNDERSTAND ME BAWWWWWWWWWWWWWW /wrist"

...Or something like that.

I've actually found a .GIF version of that (That doesn't include Kyon three times) if you want.

My latest purchase was probably Breath of Fire III for the PS1 two years ago.  :isuck:
Yeah, I know I said I'd buy Tales of Phantasia GBA with my birthday money, but it didn't happen.

Numbers that are consistent with the rest of the "portable FF" (I say this instead of "FF Advance" to include FFIIIDS as well) excite the whiny font boy.

If you implement this feature, you no longer have to even look at the accented characters too hard.

 :edit:
Also, the way that font's displayed scares me. Nevermind about fixing it myself, heh.

 :edit:
It has ocurred to me that the 12x8 font's accented vowels look hideous. Pardon my asking about fixing any set of them; it is no longer nessecary. If foreigners want to play the game in their own language, they can use the original EU ROM. :bah: Heh, looks like I finally get it.

Well, possibly not centuries. And definitely not a millenia. But yeah, this is enough until you feel like working on it again. Thanks

 :edit:
Like I keep saying, as inexperienced as I am, I could probably fight with this enough to get it to work; just tell me what to do. Wait, is it a mind-raping grueling process and that's why you put it off in the first place?

Then would it be possible to just cut them out or something? They're a bit of an eyesore...

Hm? Oh, sure. I was just offering a suggestion as you said you were undecided on how to handle the accented vowels. I wouldn't care if you didn't fix them, to be honest.

 :edit:
Viciously mispelled "handle..."

 :edit:
Oh, it looks like you didn't see my other edits yet, possibly. That's what's implied, anyway...

Uh, I think there's another missing pixel somewhere, too. Lemme download the ROM, the patch, Lunar IPS (Sucks not having Internet in my own room... ) and possibly grab my own .SAV from my comp.

 :edit:
You should probably either take down the stripper restoration patch from wherever you have this located or remove that hack from the font patch when you officially release it.

 :edit:
I see you've fixed the dialogue's 'M' and 'g'. Good show.

 :edit:
The capital 'R' in the 8x8 font is missing a pixel. It's like this in FFVA and I think FFVIA too. From the bottom right, it's three pixels to the left horizontally and one pixel up vertically. That's where it's missing.

 :edit:
The capital 'S' in thr 16x16 font is missing a pixel as well, and it's also like this in the two FF Advance games that use this font in the official release. From the bottom left, it's right two pixels and up three pixels. That's where it isn't.

 :edit:
I think I have a solution to your accented vowels problem. You see how the É characters are?  Yeah, you should make them all like that. Granted, the other languages will have even more spillover issues, but at least they'll be semi-playable. I have screens and comparisons for you if you're interested.

On the left are my modifications. On the right is how it currently looks.

Well, uh, one pixel of the shadow on the number "4" disappears when it's displayed in the "Gained X experience points/Obtained X gil" text, but that's a little...trivial. So much that only a font nut such as myself would notice.
